Grape
Pinot Noir in Champagne
39 producers in Champagne make wine from Pinot Noir that has been rated, and for 29 of them it is the leading grape. The villages with the most producers are Aÿ-Champagne (5), Épernay (4), Bouzy (3), Ville-sur-Arce (2), Arrentières (2).
Pinot Noir covers 38% of the Champagne vineyard, more than any other grape (Comité Champagne). It dominates in the Montagne de Reims and the Côte des Bar and gives body and structure to the blends, and to Blanc de Noirs.
