Mâconnais wineries
The Mâconnais in the south is Chardonnay country: the grape covers about 80% of the vines. The best-known wines grow below the limestone rocks of Solutré and Vergisson in Pouilly-Fuissé, which received the first premiers crus in the Mâconnais, from the 2020 vintage, alongside Saint-Véran, Viré-Clessé and the many Mâcon-Villages wines.
